Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has commended the management of the Graphic Communications Group Company limited for its tenacity and resilience in staying afloat amidst the digital revolution, which has significantly impacted the print media industry.
She extolled the entity for embracing digital transformation and exploring opportunities for online content creation and digital marketing to stay relevant in the changing media landscape.
The Minister assured management of government’s commitment to supporting the newspaper, promoting press freedom and safety of journalists, recognizing the critical role of a free press in Ghana’s democracy.
Hon. Abubakar gave the commendation when she visited the newspaper house earlier today to engage management on ways to combat information disorder, promote ethical journalism and explore opportunities for growth and development of the newspaper industry.
She highlighted the media support programmes being rolled by the ministry and entreated management to take advantage and enhance skills for improved media ethics
The management of the newspaper house assured the Minister that it will continue to produce high-quality content and maintain its commitment to ethical journalism.
She took the tour to the New Times Corporation, the F Giant Media and Ghana Web where she shared same sentiments.
