The Information Services Department is the principal public relations outfit of Government. Its primary mandate is to disseminate Government policies, programmes and activities as well as access feedback on public reaction to Government policies. The Department is represented in all the sixteen regions of Ghana and has offices in all the 229 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the country. It has also three offices in Ghana’s Missions abroad. These include London (UK), Washington (USA) and New York (USA).

As part of its functions, the Department provides numerous services including the provision of print media such as posters, leaflets, magazines among others. It also provides press coverage for all state functions and MDAs. The Department has a 120-seater conference hall facility for both official and commercial purposes and mounts photo exhibitions for Government and other organizations.

The vision of the Information Service Department (ISD) is to provide a responsive two-way channel of communications between the Government and the people to proactively and readily assist the government’s investment promotion and developmental programmes towards good governance.

The ISD is set up to create awareness of Government policies, programmes and activities, promotes Ghana’s international marketing agenda, provide public relations support to other Ministries, Departments and Agencies and submits feedback reports from the public to government.
